The Asia-Pacific region will welcome more A380s in 2012

Asian Continent likely to experience travel Boom!

The A380 will become an increasingly familiar sight in the skies over Asia-Pacific as two more of this region’s carriers add the 21st century flagship jetliner to their fleets in 2012.
Having begun its commercial operations in Asia-Pacific with Singapore Airlines in 2007, the A380 today is flown on a growing route system throughout this part of the world – in addition to operations that connect cities around the globe.

Half of the total 69 A380s delivered by Airbus to date are utilized by Asian-Pacific carriers, with Singapore Airlines having been joined by Qantas Airways, Korean Air and China Southern.  The other international A380 operators are Europe’s Air France and Lufthansa, along with Emirates in the Middle East.

Airbus continues to accelerate its A380 production rate, with 30 deliveries planned in 2012 – including the first for Malaysia Airlines and Thai Airways.  This follows the 26 aircraft provided last year, during which Korean Air and China Southern added the initial A380s to their fleets.
